Gipfelsturm am Mount Saint Helena

Pictures by Mother Nature, photographs by Achim K. + Volker Ro.

The Object of Desire – Mount Saint Helena seen from Mount Vision on the Point Reyes peninsula.

The memorial in Robert Louis Stevenson State Park – the author spent his honeymoon at the foot of Mount Saint Helena and wrote parts of his book Silverado Squatters there.

... the long and winding road, that leads to the top ...

Banister surfing rocks!

View across the Napa Valley.

Westward view with a fog cloud over Sonoma Valley.

Northward view with the snow covered tops of Lassen Volcanic National Park (presumably).

Eastward view to the ranges of the Sierra Nevada.

Hooray, hooray, there's snow on the way!

Higher and higher.

The fruits of our labor?

Almost there.

Sending signals to the stars.

Sitting on top of the world.

Still sitting on top of the world.

Westward view with the Pacific Ocean visible on the left hand side.

What?

Westward view across Napa and Sonoma Valley to the Mighty Pacific Ocean.

Southward view across Napa Valley to the Bay Area with Mount Diablo.

And now the time is right ...

... for a little snowball fight!
